Città di Castello premiata tra pochissimi Comuni in Umbria per la scelta del menù 100 per cento biologico nelle mense scolastiche: il contributo di circa 27 mila euro erogato da MASAF e MIUR sarà interamente suddiviso tra le famiglie dei 1.700 bambini che utilizzano il servizio Mangiare sano e risparmiare.
E’ quello che il Comune di Città di Castello offre a quasi 1.700 bambini e alle loro famiglie con la scelta del menù 100 per cento biologico per il servizio di ristorazione scolastica. Anche nell’anno scolastico 2024-2025, l’amministrazione distribuirà a tutti gli utenti il contributo di 26.714,08 euro del fondo nazionale con cui il Ministero dell’Agricoltura della Sovranità Alimentare e delle Foreste, insieme al Ministero dell’Istruzione dell’Università e della Ricerca, ha premiato l’offerta completamente biologica delle mense tifernati. I borsellini elettronici virtuali delle famiglie interessate, registrati sulla piattaforma informatica dell’ente, saranno ricaricati con un credito da spendere per i pasti dei figli di importo proporzionale ai giorni di utilizzo settimanale del servizio. Il contributo di 26.714,08 euro erogato attraverso la Regione verrà suddiviso in base alla frequenza di utilizzo della mensa tra tutti i 1.697 utenti della ristorazione scolastica che non beneficiano dell’esenzione dal pagamento. Le famiglie dei 1.273 bambini che rientrano a scuola cinque volte a settimana riceveranno una ricarica del borsellino elettronico di 18,40 euro, mentre 14,72 euro verranno versati ai 16 nuclei con figli che rientrano quattro volte, 9,79 euro ai 20 che hanno tre rientri e 7,37 euro ai 388 che ne hanno due. Per effetto dei crediti assegnati, ogni bambino avrà una riduzione della quota-pasto giornaliera di 10 centesimi per l’intero anno scolastico. Considerando l’ultimo contributo percepito dal fondo nazionale per le mense biologiche, istituito dalla legge 96/2017 per ridurre i costi a carico dei beneficiari del servizio, realizzare iniziative di informazione e di promozione nelle scuole e di accompagnamento al servizio di ristorazione scolastica, grazie alla scelta del menù 100 per cento biologico negli ultimi quattro anni il Comune ha potuto destinare alle famiglie che usufruiscono delle mense scolastiche oltre 150 mila euro. In Umbria non tutti hanno la possibilità di usufruire di un simile abbattimento del costo del servizio di ristorazione per i propri figli. Nel 2024, infatti, a essere risultati beneficiari del contributo ministeriale con Città di Castello sono i soli Comuni di Perugia, Spoleto, Giano dell’Umbria, San Giustino e il Convitto Principe di Napoli di Assisi. L’amministrazione comunale sottolinea come “l’investimento su un servizio di ristorazione 100 per cento biologico, con prodotti sani e a chilometro zero, sia una scelta onerosa per l’ente, che rispecchia però una convinta assunzione di responsabilità nei confronti dei bambini e delle loro famiglie. Poter restituire agli utenti anche un beneficio economico derivante da questa scelta qualifica ulteriormente i nostri servizi educativi, che sono strutturati sull’idea di offrire alle nuove generazioni strumenti e opportunità per costruire una società migliore”.
