San Giustino, che vanta una eccellente tradizione in campo motoristico, ritrova l’appuntamento con la gara nazionale di karting nella giornata di domenica 5 giugno, valevole per il campionato tricolore dei circuiti cittadini. È la competizione che si tiene da più lungo tempo nel territorio sangiustinese: iniziata nel 1983, ha conosciuto soltanto due brevi periodi di interruzione, l’ultimo dei quali dovuto alla pandemia. Ora, però, si ripresenta con in prima linea la Sgs Eventi, che dal 2016 ne cura l’organizzazione con il patrocinio del Comune e di Aci Sport. OBIETTIVO IL SUPERAMENTO DEI 100 PARTECIPANTI
Confermato il circuito di quasi 900 metri a nord del paese, con 9 curve e una chicane, sul quale i protagonisti si daranno battaglia. Prima del Covid-19 (fino quindi il 2019), erano stati mediamente intorno agli 80-90 i piloti delle varie categorie iscritti; adesso, si punta a superare quota 100, con ancora un buon contributo da parte dei locali. Nella numerosa categoria Gilera, si dovrebbe arrivare a disputare le batterie. Queste le categorie ammesse: 125 kz2, 125 Kz Nazionale Under/Over, 125 Club Under/Over, 125 Tag Super tag, 125 Territoriale, 125 Gilera, 100 Amatoriale e 60 Mini Nazionale. Sono stati invitati anche gli storici, che al volante dei loro mezzi potranno girare in un contesto non competitivo. Ogni kart monterà gomme come da regolamento di categoria; l’organizzazione ha previsto ospitalità per piloti e accompagnatori che arriveranno il sabato, con tanto di cena offerta. Come sempre, anche il pubblico non mancherà di garantire la sua massiccia presenza. “C’è grande entusiasmo sia fra di noi che fra i piloti – ha dichiarato Mario Pieracci, presidente di Sgs Eventi – e d’altronde non avrebbe potuto essere diversamente, dopo due anni nei quali siamo dovuti rimanere fermi. Ci stiamo adoperando al massimo per allestire una bella manifestazione, facendo leva anche sulle condizioni meteo perché possano darci un aiuto importante”. Lo spettacolo avrà inizio alle 9 con le prove libere, che si protrarranno fino alle 11, mentre dalle 11 alle 12 sarà il turno delle prove ufficiali e alle 12.30 delle prefinali. Nel pomeriggio, finali a partire dalle 15 e premiazione alle 18. La gara verrà ufficialmente presentata nel corso della conferenza stampa che si terrà sabato 28 maggio alle 10 nella sala del cinema teatro Astra.
