Il 12 giugno p.v. alle ore 12 l’Associazione Puccini and Friends in Valtiberina, costituita recentemente da alcuni appassionati dell’opera del grande maestro toscano,  presenterà alla cittadinanza le finalità e la progettualità che i soci fondatori* intendono perseguire, invitando anche ogni altro sostenitore  ad aderire alla nuova proposta.

Il  neo eletto presidente, il dott. Maurizio Checcaglini,  ha  messo a disposizione  la sua grande esperienza associativa unita al forte interesse per la ricerca storica anche in campo musicale, per avviare la conduzione di questa nuova progettualità che partendo dalle tracce di Puccini in Valtiberina intende attirare, giovani e meno giovani, verso l’ascolto della musica classica e avvicinarli  al mondo musicale e artistico in senso ampio. Sottolinea  a tal proposito il  dott. Checcaglini: “ Dopo il  restauro completato nel 2018  del pianoforte grancoda Steinway biturgense, insieme ad alcuni amici valtiberini che come me particolarmente affascinati dalla storia di questo strumento, abbiamo deciso di continuare la ricerca e di valorizzare i legami che Puccini aveva con alcune famiglie della nostra zona, a dimostrazione di come anche il nostro territorio sia stato interessato dai grandi processi culturali che hanno caratterizzato la storia dei  secoli piu’ recenti”. Ha altresì sottolineato che la sensibilità e l’impegno mostrati dall’Amministrazione comunale biturgense verso i temi di cui  l’Associazione si fa portatrice, uniti al percorso di consolidamento dei rapporti con la Fondazione Puccini di Lucca,  faccia convergere le azioni comuni verso uno sviluppo economico e culturale  della vallata sempre piu’ compatibile con le attese dei cittadini e dei turisti. L’Associazione  Puccini and Friends in Valtiberina punta anche a proporre ai soci e a coloro che intendano avvicinarsi al mondo della musica, in particolare di quella classica, ampie  attività di divulgazione e di educazione all’ascolto e,  ricorrendo a breve  i cento anni dalla morte di Puccini,  svilupperà un programma per contribuire alla celebrazioni nazionali e a diffondere la sua impareggiabile  produzione operistica.
