L’appuntamento live è per giovedì 14 marzo alle ore 21.

Santuario (Cd pubblicato dalla Dodicilune, 2021) rinnova un incontro estetico ormai ampiamente storicizzato, quello tra il jazz e la musica latino-americana (in questo caso argentina). E rinnova anche una collaborazione iniziata nel 2015, quella tra il sassofonista Javier Girotto e il fisarmonicista Vince Abbracciante. Il dialogo musicale tra i due ha l’aspetto di una conversazione intima, in cui entrambi gli interlocutori si abbandonano senza timore allo svelamento delle proprie emozioni, che in musica diventano flusso melodico e slancio lirico. Le traiettorie che delineano, arcate che collegano jazz, tango e folclore, diventano poesia sentimentale. Le musiche originali del duo sono malinconiche e raffinate, fanno intravedere l’aureo equilibrio delle forme neoclassiche ma si lasciano anche ‘squarciare’ da improvvisazioni libere. Javier Girotto, nato a Cordoba nel 1965, si è formato tra la natìa Argentina e gli Stati Uniti, dove ha studiato al Berklee College of Music. Giunto in Italia all’inizio degli anni Novanta, vi si è subito ambientato musicalmente, dando vita a numerosi gruppi a suo nome (in primis gli Aires Tango) e collaborando con artisti come Enrico Rava, Fabrizio Bosso, Luciano Biondini, Peppe Servillo. Oltre a essere l’anima ‘esotica’ di molte formazioni jazz italiane, Girotto è attivo anche sulla scena internazionale: lo si è sentito infatti con la francese Orchestre National de Jazz, oltre che assieme a Bob Mintzer, Randy Brecker, Danilo Perez, Kenny Wheeler e innumerevoli altri. Pugliese, classe 1983, Vince Abbracciante si è diplomato in musica jazz al Conservatorio di Monopoli mentre ha completato (con lode e menzione speciale) gli studi di fisarmonica classica al Conservatorio di Matera. Si è esibito con musicisti come Juini Booth, John Medeski, Richard Galliano, Marc Ribot, Gabriele Mirabassi, Flavio Boltro, Fabrizio Bosso, Peppe Servillo, Lucio Dalla, Ornella Vanoni. Crossroads 2024 è organizzato come sempre da Jazz Network in collaborazione con l’Assessorato alla Cultura e Paesaggio della Regione Emilia-Romagna e con il sostegno del Ministero della Cultura e di numerose altre istituzioni. Crossroads fa parte di Jazzer powered by Gruppo Hera e vanta il patrocinio di ANCI Emilia-Romagna. Il concerto è realizzato in collaborazione con l’Assessorato
