Arezzo, una giornata dedicata alla polifonia con cori da tutta la penisola La competizione decreterà il coro vincitore che parteciperà di diritto all’edizione del Concorso Polifonico Internazionale del 2025; in più in programma per sabato l’esclusivo esame-concerto degli studenti del Corso Superiore per Direttori di Coro
Dal Veneto al Friuli Venezia Giulia, passando per il Lazio e la Campania: Arezzo è il punto di riferimento delle realtà corali nazionali con il suo 41° Concorso Polifonico Nazionale “Guido d’Arezzo”, confermandosi così la “Città della Musica”. Appuntamento domenica 27 ottobre dalle 10,30 al Teatro Petrarca con i cinque cori che si sfideranno su un programma libero di brani di stile ed epoche differenti: protagonisti saranno il Coro da camera del Concentus Musicus Patavinus dell’Università degli Studi di Padova diretto da Ignacio Vazzoler, il Coro Femminile Multifariam di Udine diretto da Michele Gallas, il Coro Il Calicanto di Salerno diretto da Silvana Noschese, il Coro Ison diretto da Amedeo Scutiero e il Coro Minuscolo Spazio Vocale diretto Filippo Stefanelli, entrambi di Roma. Le ensemble verranno valutate da una giuria di eccezione composta da importanti esponenti della polifonia contemporanea italiana quali Ennio Bertolotti, Sara Matteucci, Walter Marzilli, Vladimiro Vagnetti e Roberto Brisotto, che avranno il compito di selezionare il coro vincitore che accederà di diritto all’edizione del Concorso Polifonico Internazionale del 2025 (ingresso gratuito, info e programma completo su www.polifonico.org). Da non perdere anche l’appuntamento di sabato 26 ottobre ore 16,30 presso la Casa della Musica di Arezzo: il Corso Superiore per Direttori di Coro concluderà l’anno accademico con un esame in forma di concerto aperto al pubblico in cui tutti gli studenti dovranno affrontare repertori diversificati per livello difficoltà e interpretazione, in collaborazione con “Libercantus Ensemble”. La manifestazione è organizzata da Fondazione Guido d’Arezzo – ente presieduto dal sindaco della città Alessandro Ghinelli e diretto da Lorenzo Cinatti; la direzione artistica è di Luigi Marzola, con il supporto di Ministero della Cultura, Regione Toscana, Comune di Arezzo, Fondazione CR Firenze e il contributo di FeniArco.
Il programma del 41° Concorso Polifonico Nazionale “Guido d’Arezzo nel dettaglio: partenza ore 10,30 con il concorso a categoria unica, che vedrà l’esibizione dei cinque cori in gara. Il Coro Il Calicanto di Salerno con la direttrice Silvana Noschese proporrà brani di T.L. de Victoria (O sacrum convivium), J.G. rheinberger (Salve Regina), M. Ferretti (Occhi lucenti e belli) e A. Čopi (Sing joyfully to God our strength), mentre il Coro Femminile Multifariam di Udine diretto da Michele Gallas si esibirà con Ave verum di C. Saint-Saëns, Sub tuum præsidium di G. Mezzalira, Psalm 23 di F. Schubert e O vos omnes di T.L. de Victoria. E ancora, il Coro da camera del Concentus Musicus Patavinus dell’Università degli Studi di Padova diretto da Ignacio Vazzoler proporrà Selig sind die Toten, die in dem Herren sterben di H. schütz, Herr, nun lässest du, deinen Diener in Frieden fahren di F. Mendelssohn e Come to me di I. Antognini. Il Coro Ison di Roma, diretto da Amedeo Scutiero, si esibirà nell’ Agnus Dei (da Missa brevis) di G.P. da Palestrina, Agnus Dei (da Messa da requiem) di I.Pizzetti, Agnus Dei (da Gloria Patri – 24 hymns) di U. Sisask e Ave Maria di L. Molfino, mentre il Coro Minuscolo Spazio Vocale di Roma insieme al direttore Filippo Stefanelli proporrà brani di L. Marenzio (Dissi a l’amata mia),E. Wolf-Ferrari (La passione),P. Ferrario (Jubilate Deo) e J. Busto (Sagastipean). Si prosegue alle 15 con il Concorso categoria Gran Premio Guido d’Arezzo, che vedrà la partecipazione dei cori scelti dalla giuria dopo le esibizioni della categoria unica, e alle 16 premiazione e consegna dei diplomi agli allievi della Scuola per Direttori di Coro. Tre sono i premi che andranno ai vincitori della categoria unica, il primo di 1200€, il secondo di 800€ e il terzo di 400€, mentre il Gran Premio Guido d’Arezzo consisterà in un premio di 1200€ e l’ammissione di diritto al concorso internazionale 2025. È previsto inoltre un premio speciale, ovvero il Premio FeniArco di 500€ che verrà assegnato alla migliore esecuzione di un brano di autore italiano vivente. Il Concorso Polifonico Nazionale di Arezzo – dichiara il direttore artistico Luigi Marzola – che è giunto quest’anno alla sua 41esima edizione, da molti anni ispira e stimola la ricerca, il confronto e lo scambio culturale tra le realtà corali italiane. Domenica ensemble vocali provenienti da Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lazio e Campania si esibiranno davanti a una selezionatissima giuria composta da significative personalità del mondo corale italiano, con un programma libero contenente brani di stile ed epoche differenti; come sempre il coro vincitore accederà di diritto all’edizione del Concorso Polifonico Internazionale del 2025. Si tratta di una manifestazione che contribuisce in maniera determinante a valorizzare la supremazia che Arezzo vanta nella polifonia e, più in generale, a conservarle un posto di particolare prestigio e riguardo nel ricco programma di iniziative ed eventi musicali che la confermano “Città della Musica”. Ma non solo: con lo spazio dedicato agli esami finali della scuola per Direttori di Coro si conferma anche il ruolo che Arezzo sta conquistando nella didattica e nella formazione specialistica. Vi aspettiamo a questi due importanti appuntamenti ricordandovi che l’ingresso a tutte le manifestazioni è libero”.
La Fondazione Guido d’Arezzo si è distinta fin dal 1952 come il più importante palcoscenico per le espressioni corali del mondo intero, organizzando il Concorso Polifonico Nazionale istituito nel 1984, il Concorso Internazionale di Composizione istituito nel 1974, il Gran Premio Europeo di Canto Corale istituito nel 1988 con i partner di Tolosa (Spagna), Debrecen (Ungheria), Tours (Francia), Varna (Bulgaria) e Maribor (Slovenia) e la Scuola Superiore per Direttori di Coro nata nel 2002, corso triennale di specializzazione destinato alla formazione di direttori di coro.
