L’eurodeputata Ilaria Salis ha pendenze giudiziarie in Ungheria per vicende politiche abbastanza note e grazie alle quali è stata eletta a Strasburgo. I suoi colleghi che fanno parte del partito di Orban (capo del governo di Budapest) hanno chiesto (1) la revoca dell’immunità parlamentare sostenendo che dovrebbe essere giudicata come una criminale comune poiché le accuse verso di lei, aggressione a mano armata, non sono per reati d’opinione
L’on.Salis ha chiesto che non si accetti questa richiesta perché in quel Paese mancano le basi di uno Stato di diritto… e considerando come fu a suo tempo tenuta in attesa di giudizio per oltre un anno e come prese il via la celebrazione del processo, il sistema giudiziario ungherese non sembra proprio in armonia con i principi base dell’Ue. La segretaria del Pd, ha fatto sapere che gli eurodeputati del suo partito voteranno contro la revoca dell’immunità. C’è qualcosa che non ci torna. Se Salis è stata eletta a Strasburgo proprio per denunciare l’illiberalità del sistema giudiziario e istituzionale ungherese, perché si tira indietro per affrontare questa battaglia proprio ora che è libera e sarà molto difficile che possa essere di nuovo incarcerata, in posizione mediatico-politica di rilievo, potendo anche con facilità dare eco nelle istituzioni comunitarie a questa anomalia che, tra l’altro, le stesse istituzioni Ue hanno più volte denunciato “richiamando all’ordine” il governo dell’Ungheria?
Del resto, la sua elezione a Strasburgo è stata proprio per questo motivo.
Viene in mente il caso di Enzo Tortora del secolo scorso. Il giornalista, incriminato e incarcerato per camorra, fu eletto sempre al Parlamento europeo, fu liberato ed ottenne la revoca dell’immunità perché il discutibile processo che era stato montato contro di lui si celebrasse. Tortora, con alle spalle il partito radicale di Marco Pannella, fu assolto e fu smontata tutta la vicenda montata dalla camorra, con grande clamore sul comportamento del sistema giudiziario italiano che, però, oggi 2024, non sembra aver fatto tesoro della lezione.
E’ forse questo timore di lottare contro i mulini a vento che oggi blocca l’on. Salis dal continuare la battaglia anche nelle aule giudiziarie di Budapest? A noi preme ricordare che se oggi in Ue c’è un grande problema di zavorra eccessiva che blocca una riforma senza la quale si rischia di far fallire il progetto di Altiero Spinelli ed Ernesto Rossi, questo problema si chiama essenzialmente Ungheria. E vicende come quella dell’on.Salis sono importanti per mettere in evidenza chi, come l’ungheria di Orban, mette i bastoni fra le ruote, inchiodandoli anche nelle loro aule giudiziarie.
